On the Needles

Last week I had just turned the heel on round 70 of the design on the Into the Green Socks and was headed to the toes on these socks.  Last night I finished round 97 and I'm looking forward to round 111 and the toe decrease.

**I'm counting rows because that's how far the lace pattern goes.  If you click on the picture, you can see the lace. **

Sure seems like I knitted more than that but I didn't.  I guess more TV time was spent stitching down binding than I thought.  Or more time was spent just holding the project and not moving the needles.  I caught myself doing that a lot.  No big deal, I'm not in a race.

I had fun last Friday seeing what everyone was working on.  I'm really looking forward to the On the Needle posts today that will link up here at Patchwork Times.  Join us, won't you!!

Amazing isn't it how we can sit and hold the needles..... I sure don't get much done on those evenings.

Maybe by next week you will have that sock finished......

Thanks for the link to the pattern.

Love your bag that you hold the yarn in. Is it a pattern? If so could you give me the name. I travel a lot and take my knitting and this would be perfect for the project. Love the color of the socks!

kathyalden, thank you for your nice comment. I tried to reply to you but you are set to no reply. The pattern for the bag is from Lazy Girl Designs called Purse-Nickities.

Great looking socks! I made a pair from that yarn too.

I love how the yarn is striping.

Two pair of summer socks are stalled on my needles: summer may be over before I finish them. Sigh

Wonderful! They are coming along nicely. Your post last week spurred me back into action on my socks of this same yarn. I actually stayed up till 1AM this morning ripping back and turning the heel where it was supposed to be. In my knitting daze last week I just knit right past the spot!

Great look socks, and I like the yarn a lot. Even one row is progress!

Do you always count all your rows? It's looking good and I agree -- any progress is good!

Very nice! I'm working on my first sock. I doubt that I will get a pair. Too many practice pieces and only 1 skein.

So you count the total rounds? I count by sections: the ribbing, the shaft, the heel flap, the heel, the foot and then the toe. Works better for me.

Those are so pretty.

Do you actually block your socks? I wonder if that makes them easier to fold? I know they sure look good on the blocking foot.

That is a nice lacy pattern too. I'm gonna try something like that next.

Love those socks. I have taught myself to knit socks via YouTube (knew how to knit) and am on my third sock. Using DPNs which aren't as scary as I thought but I am going to try magic loop next. Don't think I'll ever be trying "lace" -- ribbing and stockinette for me!
