It's The Simple Things

What makes me happy? I love simple things. Yesterday, I repaired a stuffed snake for a cute little 5 year old. He called me to say thank you. I was giddy all evening. The little voice on the phone "Thank you for fixing my snake. He's beautiful."

This morning I completed Hour 5 of the Quilt For An Hour project that Judy L. has going on right now. I'm calling this my I'm not starting anything new project. I already know how I'm going to quilt this. And the best part, everything is from my stash. That makes me happy.

The other day, I looked out my window and saw my chickens all flocked around the chairs we sit in (after cleaning) to watch the garden grow. I'm always happy when I collect the eggs and say thank you to the girls for their hard work.

There are oodles of other things that make me happy. These are just drops in my happiness bucket. What makes you happy?

Today it's going home that makes me happy....another day it will be leaving on a trip.

I like your QFAH. I was tempted but I still have two quilts I've drafted in EQ6 that I haven't gotten around to making plus another couple that I'm in the middle of piecing so I'm going to resist.

First, it made me happy to read your post today!! Just the fact that you thank the "girls" for their hard work. My step-son has chickens and he calls them the girls, and so does his 3 year old son!!! And of course, the story about the 5 year old calling to thank you. Little voices on the phone are so cute! That makes me want to tell a story. The other day my 2 year old grandson called me, and he said, "hi Gramma Barb. Watch me run." And he was gone. Isn't that cute??? I am awaiting a visit from my middle child, daughter who is expected in a couple hours, and that will make me very happy to have her around for a few days!

I love your blog! I love the simple things in life too. A smile on my dear daughter's face. A dear son who's charm and laughter make you feel like you are doing something right. The "nite nite ... and I love yous" we say to each other every night they are home. Like you I could go on and on but I'll stop and thank you for the post to remind me to count my daily blessings.

Isn't if funny how the simplest little things like a child's voice can make us happy?
