Decisions, decisions

I've been playing with my diamond string blocks and can't make up my mind which layout I like best. If I do the straight set, it looks good and I have a plan for some borders. But I like the look of the stars. They have to have sashing to show the stars and the center will be square--I have enough for 9 blocks. Because of the amount of fabric I have left from the green and white (it was a border print) I'm thinking I'll use the white for the center sashing and the green for in the borders. Hmmm.

When I thought of making this quilt I was going for the green and white framed blocks. Then I put it on the wall and saw the star and now I don't know what to do. I've looked at the photos on the Quiltville page but no one has made the blocks like I have.

So I will post this and hope someone can tell me what to do. Pretty sneaky, huh??? For now, I'll leave it on the wall, I have other things to work on. Or not.

The stars are cool, Judy. How do they look with no sashing? I kind of like the way white makes them pop.....

I like the stars with white sashing. The white sashing makes the star blocks pop.

I love the stars - but I like the last photo too - ohhh so many choices and I'm afraid I'm no help at all. :-) Are you cooler today - we sure are!!!!

I really like both looks, but I think my favorite is the stars!! And the green and white will set it off so nicely, it'll be beautiful!!! It's always good to sleep on these decisions!!! Take a look in the morning and see what you think! Beautiful!!!!

I love these blocks - have to add my two cents here - what if you alternate - white and green - surround one block with all white and the next all green and stagger them. Does that make sense?

I would use the green. To me it makes the stars pop even more than the white. I am a green person though. I think green makes anything look better. Really though I do think it makes a better contrast. However you end up making this, I'm impressed. I'm not a quilter and I'm very in awe of those of you who have this talent and patience!
