Happy Birthday America
I like this guy.
"Someone" hit the steps with the lawn mower.
Let's blame Steve.
This is Ernie, the love of my life-he blames Steve all the time.😉
I say it's just an excuse to go to Home Depot.
He got his replacement stuff and brought me home petunias. 💖
I like happy mail.
I can't wait to use this new ruler.
It was fun to do through the Date Keeper and see how many of Bonnie's quilts I have made.
I have made lots and lots.
I have a list, it's long.
I really like string blocks.
I like the mindless sewing of them.
I like to reach in and blindly pick a fabric and sew it on.
Neutrals are my favorite colors.
I needed 21 of these blocks.
They are trimmed and ready to use.
I spent Wednesday spray basting a quilt using homemade spray
This is the first time I've tried it on a larger quilt.
It was fun to work on the deck table.
A nice breeze blew most of the day so I used cans as weights.
I found a tip about using a ruler to smooth the fabric.
It worked great.
I'm anxious to start quilting to see how it holds together.
The wagon of Wave Petunias looks fabulous!
I just makes me smile.
This is May 15th when I planted them.
Amazing!
My fuchsia is doing great.
The hedge of hydrangeas is going to soon be in full bloom.
Hope everyone had a great day celebrating America.

Ah those petunias! Just lovely. I like making the string blocks too. They are relaxing. I never know how they will be used but like making a bunch and saving them. mary
Hi Judy,
Oh my, your wagon full of petunias looks fabulous! I think we may need to borrow that idea next year - it would definitely make me smile each day as well. That darn Steve - we have one in our neighborhood also. He sure gets around! Your string blocks looks like a fun quilt - neutrals are definitely some of my favorite colors. Where would we be without them?! Happy Thursday! ~smile~ Roseanne
I love string blocks... I'm way overdue to make me some. Your flowers look beautiful!
I know how the home depot trips go.... Never ending and always there's one more thing you need for any given project. But I love love petunias and yours look great. The fuschia is beautiful too. I've never tried to grow it- is it hard?
I love your wagon of petunias! So pretty! I like string blocks, too - was just thinking I should start making some again as I have lots of strings piling up. I saw the planner and pencils on Bonnie's blog. They look like fun!
you're so funny!
I'd need a REAl reason to step foot in home depot.
How do you keep petunias alive? Mine all died in this heat and sun here in Colorado, or the convection oven as we call it.
I love string quilts, and maybe the favorite among them was Ricky tims hand drawn star quilt I did two Christmases ago. I want to make another. You must make two strip sets exactly alike though for each segment. It's a lot of fun mindless sewing.
