I am so easily influenced! I saw this Lacy Crochet Market Bag Challenge on one of my Facebook pages (there's a knit pattern too that I want to make) called The Crochet Crowd and I couldn't stop thinking about it. One day I decided to just try it to see if I could do the stitch. (Yes Judy L, you can teach an old dog a new trick.) Before I got to making the star, I read this about Market Bag Issues. There is a wonderful video tutorial that makes this stitch super easy. So now I am breezing along and cannot wait to use my bag. And reduce the amount of cotton yarn in my bin. This isn't the yarn called for in the instructions but it will make for a nice, strong bag.
I've been working on my In Love With Color Throw but now as much as I would like to. I am on round 3 of the border. I think a couple good tv nights this week and it will be finished.
These 6 little cuties are keeping me from my evening yarn projects. Momma Sally sneaked outside one morning and didn't come back. We are having a time with coyotes and are afraid one might have got her. So I have been feeding these cuties with a syringe. It takes about an hour to get them all happy and napping again. This is my first time ever hand rearing kittens! It's quite an experience. I'm hoping they will start to eat food soon and start using a litter box. They are 3 weeks old. Am I pushing it too fast?

Hi there, I have been reading your fun and inspiring blog for some time, but not commenting. I'm an Icelandic farmer (dairy farm) and a quilter. A few years back I had to take two kittens in and syringe feed them, they were two weeks old at the time, but at three weeks they had enough of me and my syringe and started drinking from a little bowl. They grew up real fast and live with my DD1 today. Good luck with this litter. And sorry about the mother.
Our little mother picked a storage unit to give birth in and got locked in there, when I found her (we thought she'd died) only these two kittens were alive (barley hanging in there) and no sign of the others (she usually had at least five). The mother promptly abandoned the kittens and two months later she disappeared completely.
I LOVE your bag and want to make one (or more). I can't believe all those little different colored kitties came from the same mama. So sorry you're having to spend so much time with them but glad they all survived. Poor mama .. she would be happy knowing you're taking good care of them.
My sister is the crocheter in the family, so I sent her the pattern for you bag. Love it! Can't wait to see your blanket finished. It is a beauty. Cute kitties, too.
Love those kitties. Good luck with them; that sounds tough being a substitute mommy. Did you check out those Vicky Chan patterns? How difficult do you think they are?
