Design Wall Monday

Another Monday with an empty design wall. I did quite a bit of sewing but it was on units and nothing is ready to put up on the wall yet.

I worked on little quarter square triangles for the mysterious Orca Bay -- find the info tab at the top of the Quiltville page. In the basket on the left are the bonus half square triangles from the first cut of the strips for the quarter square triangles. Once in a while, I'll sew a few of those together while doing the QSTs.

These are a stack of the birds in the air foursies waiting to be pressed open for My Ultimate Scrap Quilt like Julie's . I am almost done with the 4 patches. I'm resisting laying them out until I have the correct number of blocks. I keep telling myself its all about the process right now. One step at a time! I wonder how long I can hold out.

I wanted to spend the day sewing but Thanksgiving dinner groceries need to be bought. I've put it off and put it off and I can put it off no longer. But this morning I am up super early. Ernie has to plow snow in the hills today and he tried to be quiet when he got up but whenever he tries, something goes wrong. I tried to go back to sleep but the brain started working overtime and I know that means I'm wide awake and may as well get up and do something. So the washer is washing, the coffee has brewed and the grocery list needs to be made.

Visit Judy L at Patchwork Times for fabulous Design Wall Monday links. And Bonnie at Quilville for Orca Bay Progress Reports. Oh dear, I hope I don't get sucked into Blogland and forget the groceries.............

Love your QSTs for the Orca Bay. I have one done, yep one, it's a start! Hope you get all your shopping done and have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

I too need to do Thanksgiving shopping today. The turkeys were delivered to SIL as he will smoke them but the rest is up to me. We were going to be here but since their daughter and her son moved home this week it was decided we will eat there. So I will be trecking food there. I am, once again, impressed that you are jumping in to BH's multi pieces mystery. I tried twice, failed twice, and now just sit back and watch everyone else's progress. ;)

Wow, you've got a lot done this morning. And with plans for more. I am looking forward to seeing your birds in the air.

your have so much done, wow!! Hope your shopping goes well. I know exactly what you mean about waking early. This time of year the 5am snowplowing, the garbage truck and the partying neighbors just keep my from a good nights sleep. Ok maybe a bit of menopause thrown in too isn't helping me at all. Happy Thanksgiving.

You've made great progress! I was all excited just to have the cutting done so far :-) Best of luck getting that list done so you can get back to the sewing!

I'm also doing the Orca Bay mystery--my first from Bonnie! I've almost completed the 244 QSTs and it's going to take me just about 8 hours. I'm using greens, pinks and purples for this project, about 25 of each color. I'll be looking forward to seeing others pop up on DWM!

Yuck on the early wake up and brain sizzling with things thus no more sleeping. I do that every once and a while also. YEAH on the quarter square triangles almost done. Good luck with your birds in the air blocks. PS I'm skipping OB -- but I did pull out my Carolina Christmas -- does that count? Happy T - Day

So fun to be up and ready to go with the sun. Usually it means being ready to go to bed with the sun as well. Good progress on step one. Do you think we'll all be done before the next one comes along?

I will have to watch out for your ultimate scrap quilt to hit the design wall. It looks good so far. I too have started Orca Bay and have been stuck in blogland tonight.
