Design Wall Monday

Or is it really Design Wall Sunday Evening??

I spent Saturday morning working on my Circle of Friends quilt. I wanted this done today so I could put up the next project. I added 2 more rows to the top. I had to wait until I had the sections completed before I could lay them out--you know I confuse myself easily. I had grand plans of finishing this top today. I even thought I knew what I wanted to do for the borders. I planned to use up the remaining 4 patches from the swap like I have them here until I found this post at LuAnn's Loose Threads blog. I love the applique border! And what a great chance to use my GO! Cutter. So now I am rethinking my plan.

I have plenty of time for that right now.......I pulled a muscle in my back and it bothers me to sew. And I am not happy about that.

So I pulled out this project and worked on it while I iced my back and watched The Daytona 500. I haven't worked on it since September! That was the half way point and now I am working on the last quarter and then a round or 2 for a finishing border. Now I will watch the Amazing Race and work on it some more.

I'm sorry you hurt your back. I hope the ice works and you are back at your sewing machine soon. In the meantime, your afghan is looking beautiful.
I can't believe the young man from Knoxville TN won the Daytona 500. I didn't get to watch it, but I've seen the news about it.

I have an issue with my back when I sew too. I think I need a new sewing machine cabinet that would lower my machine...Glad you had a fun project to keep you busy in the mean time.

Love all those great quilts in your photo at the top of your blog! You certainly don't shy away from lots of pieces--those are the kind of quilts I love best!

Oh, a sore back is not fun at all! Hope you bounce back quickly. I love the afghan--great stripes and it looks thick and warm.

Hope your back feels better soon! It is sooo annoying to want to do something, only to have a physical problem stand in the way. I agree with your border choice, BTW. I took a peek at that link, and it is lovely.

Take care of that back-what an ache and a bore.

I like your idea of the applique border-what a finish for the quilt!

A Signature Quilt - my favorite kind of quilt! I'm sorry about your back, I get a pinched muscle from time to time and it does put a stop to bending over the sewing machine.

Hope you back gets better quick. The blanket should be finished in no time, especially since there were all those caution flags LOL

Wasn't that a great race? Not that I'm a big NASCAR fan, but it was on the TV while I was finishing my UFO#10. Nice way to bring in your 20th Birthday I'll say. The applique looks great on the quilt--along with the chocolate cup cakes! I think it would really shake up your circle of friends project. It might be something you can do now since you're resting your back. Will be anxious to see what you do...get well your sewing room will miss you,
