Design Wall Monday

I hit a snag on my Memorial Day Quilt. Wouldn't ya know it! I'm short on the medium blue fabric. After looking over my list and comparing it to the receipt, I've come to the conclusion that nothing was cut too short. What I have here is a major shrinkage problem!

So I've decided not to go 20+ miles back into town today but to go ahead with the fabric that I have and piece the pieces. I will only need make 5 of the border blocks this way and if it is too noticeable, then I will not use them. I'll have to wait until I get into town again. It's always something!

Check everyone's design wall by going over to Judy L's and following the links. Don't you love her purple and gold quilt!!!

Love your MDQ! And I had to laugh: I ran out of the dark blue - and will have to substitute the 3 inch outside border with a just slightly different blue.... Some of my fabric was not wide enough and I needed extra strips to get the count right (that's why I was constantl short on blocks).

Love your MDQ! Troubleshooting is a skill that great quilters have in their toolbox. It is plain that you know how to yield that tool well as does Barb in Mi. I would have gassed up the car and gone fabric hunting.

Marvellous! Another opportunity to be creative and add your own personal touches to the quilt! That's a
"glass half full" perspective :) LOL
Can't wait to see what you do...the quilt looks great already!

I am looking at that same problem, not enough of one fabric. My drive to that quilt shop is about 35 miles and I think I may just have to see if I can get some more before I start cutting Dotty out. I really like your quilt.

Your MDQ is beautiful. And, you also kept up with the timeline and postings of each clue. Congratulations!
