Design Wall Monday

Do you ever pull out a UFO and wonder what the heck was I thinking? That was me Sunday when I started working on this UFO.  I had partial blocks pinned together with their parts. Blocks that were unsewn and pinned together. No notes other that what I found on the blog right here in 2008. Good thing I only made 4 totally scrappy blocks before I found this.

I will be spending some serious sewing time before the Quiltville mystery starts with this UFO. I have hopes of having a completed quilt top.  Why am I working on this UFO?  I blame Jo for having a Bonnie UFO Challenge.  My post about that is here.  The fun has begun.

Plans from 2 weeks ago:
  • Retreat starts Thursday.....Can't wait. How many Pineapple Crazy blocks can I get made in 4 days without going crazy!  12 Pineapple Blocks and 5 border blocks
  • Finish Patches and Posies  DONE!!
  • Mail 9 patches for swap  I decided to add more blocks, they are done and everything will be mailed today.
  • Make back for Pieced Hexies.  Pieces are cut and ready to sew.

Plans for this week:

  • Sew back for Pieced Hexies.
  • Work on Scrappy Sister's Choice
  • Baste Pieced Hexies.

See what others have on their design wall at Patchwork Times.

I love scrappy quilts, and I think yours looks great. Sometimes I wish that old projects had good notes with them. At best I can hope that all the pieces are together, and with luck the pattern.

Judy, what a fun block this is!! I have pulled out things before and had that very thought. LOL! Still, scrappy is fun! :)

I like your scrappy Sister's Choice.
I'm glad Jo put up a challenge. I need that gentle nudge. It made me quilt my Midnight Flight last week.
Can't wait to see what you quilt on your Hexies. Congrats on the Posy finish!

Digging out old UFOs can be such an adventure. It is funny to pull out stack of blocks and wonder if you really remember making them. And still, every time I put something away I am sure I will know just what I was up to when I pull it out again. Hope this one comes together soon, at least in enough time to feel better about starting a new project.

I love colorful, scrappy quilts. I'm working through my UFOs and WIPs this year. I know what you mean. Have only a few to go. Next I'll be looking at grouped fabrics I bought year ago and try to remember what the heck I was going to make with them. If I can't remember, they will go into stash. A mind is a terrible thing to lose :(
