On The Needles
The heel flap is being made on the Jeck socks. I think this might me my new favorite pattern. I was happily knitting along last night when I came to the dreaded knot in the yarn! Ugh! I wanted to continue to match my pattern. I pulled and pulled and pulled and didn't find the repeat. I gave up before I had a huge mess in my lap and retied it and kept knitting. My heels will be different colors and that will make these socks even more fun.
I have to hurry and get them finished though because the Socktoberfest 2012 Opal Challenge will start soon and I caved and bought some Opal yarn from Simply Socks Yarn Company. And because my wonderful, dear, sweet friend sent me a surprise package of Opal--and she made me cry! So how can I not play along by committing to 2 pair for the month. I need socks for September and October!!!! Oh my, the pressure..............
The May socks are coming along nicely. I spent some recliner time on them to get through the heel and gusset and then put them back in my bag. I've held down the passenger seat a few times this week and had more time to work on these. I must be getting faster or I'm spending more time knitting than I realize. That's not such a bad thing, is it???
Check out Judy L's fun sock and see what others have On The Needles.

Knitting (or quilting) time is never wasted time! Your sock projects are great!
I caved and bought more Opal from Simply Socks, too. Now, I really MUST get busy and knit.
Love those yarns
Ann
Glad you're joining us in Opal Socktoberfest! My second (yes second) order of Opal arrived yesterday so I've got more than enough colors to pick from :-)
I think different color heels will be really cute on these fun socks! You really have a lot going on (in addition to your quilting/sewing, too)!
Making socks in Ocotber! Maybe that will be when I start my first pr... Good going on the knitting AND quilting front.
Your socks look great.
I normally do Socktoberfest on Ravelry. I don't have any Opal yarn anymore (used it all) but I have other stuff that I am trying to use up. Don't you have knots in the yarn? I usually leave about a 3" tails to weave in so there isn't that lump to bother me.
We are going to be so busy in October! :) Love the socks you have started.
Great socks Judy. I keep seeing you doing two socks at once, and one of these days I'm going to give it a try.
Isn't it annoying when there's a knot in the yarn? You're socks are looking great though.
I've had a couple knots in the purple yarn I'm using for the baby blanket but how frustrating to have one when your trying to match up your stripes.
