Design Wall Monday

My design wall is blank except for those darn threads that won't go away.  I'm trying really hard not to start anything new for a while. I know that after today's Design Wall Monday links, there will be at least one project I want to start right now but I'm going to stand strong--maybe.

I pulled out the Pineapple Crazy bin and started 5 more blocks.  I've numbered them and see that I have number 54 showing but that's not where I am. I have 32 complete-I need 224. After going back on the blog to find that number, I see I haven't worked on these much since November.  I know this is a long term project but I think I want to bring it a bit more to the front of the line.

Yesterday after doing the outside chores, I hid from the heat in the sewing room and worked on these 5 blocks. It amazes me how long each block takes to make but I find it very relaxing. And more fun that cutting wood in 90 degree heat.  But I will appreciate the wood when it's freezing cold outside and toasty warm inside.  This morning I'm trying it get it freezing cold inside!

See what others are working on at Patchwork Times.

Ah yes...inside work on a hot day is most definitely the way to go :)
The long-term Pineapple madness will have such a huge payday.... eventually :)

Yes, We are too easily swayed by a NEW Project, aren't we? I'm trying to resist all of the QAL's that keep popping up on my Blog list... Glad you can stay cool and sew today.

Ugh! the heat seems to be the story for us western states people! It's great to retreat to our sewing rooms and dig into those old projects. Try and stay cool!

Slow and steady progress on the pineapple blocks is a good thing. I find the blocks too fiddly - too many tiny pieces.

Keep up the good work.

I've never done a pineapple block but I kind of like the look of all those fabrics. I get bored doing the same block over and over but with different fabrics coming up each time it might not be too bad.

I am loving your pineapple blocks! I think this scrap project is going to get added to my "soon" list. And I totally understand about hiding out in the cool. We have had temps right at the 100 degree mark several days last week, but thankfully it is cooler here this week. I actually had coffee on the porch this morning... it was so pleasant.

Ilove pineapples and paper piecing. Your fabric is divine. Hopefully the wood will cut itself?

These look pretty intense! Good thing you have them to concentrate on instead of the heat :) It has been hot here in SoCalif but most of us don't have AC so we suffer with just fans at nighttime. Ugh.

Paper piecing does take time but the blocks are just so darn cute. The heat here is killer too. 118 yesterday!
