Design Wall Monday

I have nothing on my design wall,
But....

This weekend included some serious sewing time.
All 10 spool blocks for the Row Quilt are complete and put away.

The blades and center are ready for applique for the Dresden Plate block.

Piece #4 was added to 108 log cabin blocks.
This is too much chaos.
I need to control it.

When pressing piece #4,
I pressed 10 blocks at a time
and pinned them together.
Now I am sewing and pressing in groups of 10.
I feel better and not overwhelmed.
I need to cut more pieces.

Time to dig into some more scrap bags.
So far I am doing good at emptying one bag a week.

See other fabulous design walls at Patchwork Times.
I love Monday in Blogland.

I don't handle chaos well. It may be helpful to break things down into smaller units rather than try to do it all at once.

I like your blue spools and Dresden. You cen use your log cabins for L/E now. 10 at a time beside your machine, you will get more done along with another quilt.

The blue spools are terrific. Log Cabins look so easy but I find them very challenging.

I break my sewing up into groups of 5 or 10, my friends think it is kind of funny. I count them out rather than doing "about" 10! They also think I am crazy because I tend to time how long it takes to do a batch. They say they would rather not know how long it takes to make a quilt.

I, too, tend to work in batches but for me it is that I can quit anytime I finish a batch. I get bored easily and need to move to something different when I am doing mindless sewing. Right now I am putting blocks into rows, boring, so I am going to start the appliqueing on some owls. For that I have to pay attention. :-)
