Hand Stitching On Sunday

Kathy at Kathy's Quilts has started a new link up called Hand Stitching On Sunday.  After finishing my little snowman embroidery, I started on this cute owl piece.  I have always love to do embroidery but it's been a while since I have stitched anything.  (If you are not a regular reader of Kathy's blog, you should be.  She does such fabulous work.)

I first saw the owl on Pinterest and pinned it.  Followed the links until I found the page to download the design.  I went here today to link on the download page and unfortunately my virus protection said it was malware.  Not the page I linked to but the page from there with the download on it.  Make sense???  Insert sad face here.  I hope it is just a glitch in the system.

While clearing out my sewing room, I came across my embroidery box.  In it were several pieces that were started as BOMs.  Some completed blocks, others not.  I have the completed set of blocks together with the fabrics waiting it's turn at the sewing machine.  Now that I'm excited to sit and stitch a bit, I'm hoping a few of these projects will get completed.

Visit Kathy's blog post today and see what others are hand stitching.

Thanks for linking up to the hand stitching post!
This is an adorable owl block.
How do you trace your pattern...with pencil and light box??

So glad you are pulling out your handwork thanks to Kathy's inspiration. I enjoy her blog and always look forward to seeing what project she will pull out next.

Cute owl! I have a pattern that is very similar but not quite as detailed. Makes me want to go get it and start stitching :*)

That is so adorable Judy. And I've had my virus protection block some things for me too. Sometimes I'm able to click through on the actual links instead of the pinned links (hope that makes sense) and could then get to the original post safely. Looking forward to seeing your owl when you get it finished.

The owl is adorable! I have not ventured too far into embroidery ...yet. I have only done two tiny little stems but I do think it is a skill that I would like to pursue.
