Design Wall Monday

In the never ending quest to reduce the amount of UFOs that live in my sewing room, I pulled out this set of 12 complete blocks from the 2010 Jelly Roll Sampler Quilt Along at Moose on the Porch Quilts. I got the sashing on these 4 blocks yesterday and hope to work on the remaining 8 today.  I always ask myself why I wait so long to finish up these projects because I really like them!  I know the answer, there is always something new and shiny to distract me.

I continue to work on my bow tie leader/ender project from Quiltville.  I have sewn all but one of my bow tie blocks into sets of 4.  I have 30, I need 48.  I need to kit up 71 more bow tie blocks for this project. I need to pay attention to the background fabrics since I chose to do light and not light for that. (I better write myself a sticky note.) Close yet so far!

See what others are working on by checking at Patchwork Times for the Design Wall Monday Post.  I love Monday in Blogland.

I didn't do that quilt along, but really liked the look of the finished quilts. Too many fun projects, and so little sewing time!

Ooooh loving your bow tie leader ender project. I'm making her "Crabapple" quilt from leaders and enders...it's amazing how fast it goes! She's a genius! Lol*

New and shiny is always more fun than whatever we are working on. The blues in your jelly roll quilt are looking great. Good luck with those bow-ties. Keeping track of leaders and enders is always a trick.

Nice set of bow tie blocks. You'll have enough in no time.

Bonnie H should be having a link-up after she gets home from SISTERS. I like your setting. I have to find one for my set of Bow Ties. I have made enough for 83 sets of four. If I sash between it might be big enough. I though for a minute the 4 blocks on top were from the Christmas Sampler that Judy L has started. Are you saving those patterns to make later?

Ha! I have the jelly roll sampler blocks made into a top. Of course it still needs a back and quilting but at least I am ahead of you. Not so much on the other fronts. But if I finish breakfast (late this morning) and get the dishes started, I will be on my way to the studio to work on those things. Love the blues.

They look great and I love the bow tie layout. I have to tell myself a quote from Star wars all the time, "stay on target...." :)

I love the bow tie quilt blocks. I am just like you with having something almost finished and then I move on to something else that grabs my attention. I think I have a few of those Bonnie Hunter bow tie blocks in a bag here somewhere, too.

You are so funny! I'm like a crow too....oh, look, something shiny and new... I love your progress on your bow tie! I have a handful of those UFO thingys myself. I don't like that, but it's always been that way.

My blocks are still waiting to be made into a quilt also. Good luck with yours.

Both projects are looking great. I agree, new and shiny is always more fun than whatever you are working on at the time. I didn't do the 2010 quilt along, but did the 2011 and 2012 versions, neither of those projects have been sewn into tops yet either.
