On The Needles

Soctoberfest started Monday.  I started my 2 Circle Socks Monday morning with Opal yarn.  I followed the pattern, even after discussing with Judy L about adding ribbing......I followed the pattern.

Seems I did not follow the pattern, my needles were too large so that made the socks sloppy.  And I did not follow the pattern for the pattern......make sense?  Sometimes we(I) read things the way we(I) want them to read, not the way they actually read.  It took me this long to figure that out.  So off the needles they came! Dang, I hate that!!

Bright and early Thursday morning, I started over.  I am using the proper size needles, knitting only 1 sock-must buy circulars this size-added ribbing and am now correctly following the pattern.  I really like the way this is looking.  Despite having all the purl rows (not my favorite thing to do), I think this will be one of my favorite designs.

These are my September socks for the 12 in 2012 Challenge.  I need to get caught up this month! No pressure!!! This is for fun...........I keep telling myself that.

What's on your needles?  See what others are working on here.

I don't like frogging projects either, but sometimes it must be done. The second sock is looking great in the yarn you selected.

(I'm not crazy about the purl stitch, either)

I like the color changes of your yarn. I do like the ribbing better than without. I hate frogging too!

After seeing yours and Judy's circle socks I think I have to try this pattern. Thanks for the inspiration now to find more knitting time!

I found that making a swatch before jumping in to work a new pattern is the best route to take in the long run. You can work out the pattern (get it right) and determine the needle size to get the correct gauge. Your do-over sock looks great.
