Design Wall Monday

No design wall for me yet but I do still have that old flannel back table cloth that I had used for years. I spread it out on my bed and used it to lay out my Sow-A-Long blocks.  I'm glad I'm stopping at 50 blocks for this quilt because I'm hoping I have enough of the fabric leftover from the setting triangles to make an inner border.  I like the way the blocks float on the quilt.  But if there isn't enough, I'll just use the dark outer border and be happy with that.

If you enlarge the photo, you will see that EQ7 cuts the outer cornerstones. I'm not doing that and don't know how to make EQ7 show them the way I want them. Any tricks or tips for that??

The four diagonal rows on the left are all sewn together.  The 5th row is complete but not sewn on yet and the remaining rows are stacked and waiting their turn at the machine........That right there is why I need to get that design wall up.  I like sleeping in my own bed.  And after the whirlwind weekend Quiltathon, I was ready for my bed pretty early last night.

Grab yourself a cuppa and check out the other great design wall posts over at Patchwork Times.  I love Monday in Blogland.

Love your Sow-along blocks. 50 Blocks would have been a breeze with my Farmer's wife. I'm still waiting for the Final 2 Blocks to get done, but I keep putting it off... Maybe I'll offer someone a Klondike bar. LOL

Are your setting triangles going to go down to the point of your cornerstones, or will they stop where your EQ7 printout has cut them and then you'll add a border?

I tricked EQ7 into showing the look of full cornerstones by going onto layer 2 and placing triangular applique patches that line up with the cut cornerstones. The points on my patches went into the first border of my quilt.

Does that help?

How beautiful. The sashing sets off the blocks perfectly. And, yes, you need a wall. Giving up your bed is just not right!

That looks wonderful. I really like the way all the colors work together and I like them floating also.

I don't know what to do about EQ but if you just make larger triangles for the fillers, you can float the whole cornerstone. I like it when the center floats.

I thought I had seen the Jecks pattern on your site. These socks are "sport" weight yarn, first I've used, but I think they will be great for colder weather.
