Stash Report 2.28.10

Wow, the last day of February, that came fast! Friday I went with Crystal to The Mill End Store where Our passion is FABRIC and I'm happy to report I bought no fabric, only 2 skeins of yarn. Nothing jumped out at me that day. That's a good thing.

I've sewn very little during the week. Instead I've spent my time knitting and watching the Olympics. Then yesterday I was putting some stings in my big string bin and remembered Patti's tutorial on Crumb Chaos so I sat down to make a few blocks. And a few more and a few more. By the end of the day, I made 47 crumb blocks and 18 string blocks.

I had to figure out how much fabric I used so I went to my EQ5 and with just the crumb blocks, it says I used 5 yards! So that's what I'm using for this weeks report. I can actually tell there is a bit more room in the string bin. But I wonder if I will ever see the bottom of the bin again.

Used this Week: 5 yards
Used Year to Date: 44.5 yards
Added this Week: 0 yards
Added Year to Date: 29 yards
Net Used for 2010: 15.5

Visit Judy L to see how everyone is doing with their stash.

Aren't you feeling good about not having bought any fabric? And crumb/ string blocks are the best, though I have never really figured out how much fabric is used. Hm, don't know how EQ5 can do that for me - got ot check.

Judy, that's great! I took a workshop with Bonnie Hunter where we did crumb blocks and it was so much fun. It's amazing how much you can use up from all those small pieces. I didn't know EQ5 could do that either. I vastly underuse my program. Happy stitching this week!

Hi! I can totally relate to the idea that you sit down to "make a few blocks" and before you know it--there's a huge stack! Time flies when we're having fun! I'm thinking I'll never see the bottom of the strips basket either.

Hi Judy! How could anyone feel good about NOT buying any fabric!??? I don't understand that concept??? I have been watching the Olympics too and am kinda done with that now. Sewing on my BOM's to get ready for a daughter's visit so have to have them done early! Happy March! How can that be?

I found my 'crumb' box again, so I have no excuse not to use them up!! good for you with using that much fabric while you were just playing around!!!! that makes it even more fun!!
