Design Wall Monday On Sunday Night
This week I have 2 design walls to share--the quilt wall and the ground outside.
I am making great progress on my Boxy Stars. I had planned to start attaching borders today/Sunday but it was a nice day and hubby was in the mood to continue the outside work.
Monday I will be home alone and have no errands to run so I am going to hide in my sewing room. I hope to have this top finished.
As I stood at my kitchen sink this afternoon, I started my planting plans. The dirt patch on the right is where we plant our pumpkins. This year we will have a temporary fence around it as soon as we plant the seeds. The patch where the 2 chickens are has some daffodils and bearded irises popping out of the ground. We trimmed up that scrubby bush so I will plant wildflowers there and again, a temporary fence will be put up. Down by the big rocks, he totally went crazy with the chain saw and almost cut down the shrubs. He does that every few years so we know they will grow back.
Be sure to check out Judy L's Monday post and see what everyone is working on.

The boxy stars are looking great! I'm dreaming of spring planting once the snow melts. And planning permanent fencing to keep the deer out. The temporary fencing last year failed!
I love that red/blue start quilt- but I'm shocked--where the heck is the snow in that picture of your yard? You must have some amazing photo cropping software girl- hehe.
Seriously, what is the temp. fencing for-to keep deer out or the chickens? I know about deer, I don't know about chickens.
Good-looking borders on your star quilt!
Too early to plan anything for outside here. Snow still covers the ground.
Like how your Boxy Stars top is moving along.
Love the boxy stars. It is a favorite pattern of mine. I made one in Christmas fabric for my sister. I think I might pull out some patriotic fabric and make another after seeing yours. Thanks for the inspiration.
Oh dear, another quilt to add to my continually growing want to do list. I like your version of this quilt, where the stars stand out. It always amazes me how the same quilt, depending on fabric choices, can look so totally different. How would you like to send spring this way? Suffering from some serious spring fever. LOL
I love the boxy stars quilt!
Love this one! My design wall is empty but I plan on getting something up there before the end of the day so I'll have something to share too!
Great patriotic boxy stars - good luck with finsihing teh top (and quilt)!
Love the scrappy border in your boxy stars!
