Design Wall Monday

Last week I put the Carol Doak Twisted Mystery on the Design Wall.  During the week I worked on it.  Yesterday I put the final border on and started taking off the paper.
Not my favorite job.

These are my tools for paper removal.  My recliner, my favorite green bin, an itty bitty crochet hook that will never be used by me for crochet, tweezers and making tape.
Masking tape? you ask.  Yes.  Before you stand up, take a length of tape, wrap it around your hand with the sticky side out and clean yourself of the tiny bits of paper.  You will still have to get out the vacuum cleaner.  Its a messy job but not as messy if you use the tape.

Sometime today, I am going to park myself back in the recliner, turn on the tv and get the rest of the paper off this fabulous top so I can give it a good press and maybe, just maybe it will be finished this week.
Wish me luck!

Now I am going to refill my coffee cup and go visiting throughout Blogland.  I'm starting here, the road map to Design Wall Monday.

It's beautiful. Paper piecing looks so precise and perfect....but I don't like doing it. It takes too long, and I want something I think of today, done YESTERDAY! =-) Have a great week!

Yeah, removing the paper is the not-so-fun part of foundation paper piecing but the results are so spectacular! I found that sometimes spritzing the paper with a light water mist helped to loosen it, too. This is a beautiful project! Love your color selections.

Hey Judy, that is such a wildly fun quilt! It actually has a motion feel to it. I love paper piecing small projects and I don't mind at all the paper removing part. A good excuse to sit and watch a movie.

Judy, it is totally wonderful!!!! I agree that removing the paper is a huge pain in the .... But the final results are so very very worth it. It is truly stunning.

I wondered what paper you were taking off, I thought maybe your Orca Bay string blocks. You have been awarded the Versatile Blogger from Me - Check it out!

Great looking top. Best of luck with the depapering. At least it gives you an excuse to snuggle in and sit with no guilt.

I don't like taking the paper off either but it looks like it will be worthwhile. Love your top.

Oh goodness I do love your colors for that mystery!!! And the tape, it's pure genius. Tape is definitely going in my paper piecing tool box now.

I don't love the paper removal job either, but it's worth it to get such an amazing quilt!
