Design Wall Monday
Here's what's on my design wall today. These half square triangles were the bonus triangles from my red, cream, blue boxy stars. Inspired by this post by Julie in the Barn, I sat down one morning and started sewing them together. Now I need to decide on what size borders to make and get it finished.
Here is my new old sewing machine (and yes, I am jumping up and down!!). It's a Singer 401A Slant Needle and she is fancy! I have been searching for 2 years and thought I would never find one. After I got her home and cleaned and oiled, I tried to sew. Clank, eek! After being diligent, I figured out the wrong bobbin was in and I went into my mega bobbin stash and found the right one. She sews like she's brand new. I don't think she has many hours on her but I'll change that real soon.
Thanks Judy L for hosting Design Wall Monday. It's my favorite blog day of the week.

love this little quilt Judy, perfect time of the year for it too.
can't wait to see what border you add and how you quilt it.
nice machine!

I LOVE Bonus Triangles! Weird question, but have you watched the remade "V" TV show a few months back? Well, I wish there was someway to push a little button so that instantly all quilters around the world would stop in their tracks, look to the sky and learn about the Bonus Triangle Double-Sew method. Sooooo much fabric is just tossed away without really knowing all the POTENTIAL!!!! Bonnie said it best somewhere on her website....Even though they're scraps, they are still $9.00/yard once pieced back together! {{or something like that}}
LOVELY machine; I haven't found a love for vintage (?) machines yet. So many ladies drool over their ol' Singers, though....that IF I came across a good deal, I MAY just need to break through my "non-love-barrier."
Happy Design Wall Monday---I haven't set mine up yet.
that is a cool sewing machine you got there...luv the leftover hst top it's liking getting a BOGO at the grocery store!!
I love the baby HST's too! Love your little mini! Makes me want to get out some of mine and PLAY!
Baby HST's and in patriotic colors. Perfect timing for July 4th! Never really done a small quilt myself, but sure does sound like a quick finish, especially with bonus triangles... got to dig in my scraps...
Nice find, Judy! Great quilt for Fourth of July week, too.
That machine is so cool, I want one!! And bonus triangles, too. What a week for you! I have a good idea for my turnovers I bought on an impulse after seeing your quit...
Lovely 401A. This is a great machine and you will love it!! Congrats!!!
