Design Wall Monday
Look what's back up on the wall! I showed these blocks February 12, 2010. I moved them around, I thought about making more 9 patches for variety but in the end, I stacked them back up and put them away. These little 6" blocks have been haunting me-mostly because I keep seeing them in their bin and they look so lonely!
Again, another middle of the night idea hit me causing little sleep. I pulled these out and put them up on the wall in random fashion. I think I'll move a few around and then pull the first 2 rows down and sew them together. These blocks will not haunt me any more.
I thought for a minute about putting an applique border on like in the book but these blocks are crying to be done. So I will use some of the remaining 9 patches and 2 flower blocks and make a border. I guess I should play with EQ7 and figure something out. Nice excuse to play, isn't it???
Grab yourself a beverage and head over to Judy L's to check her wall and the walls of others. I love Design Wall Monday!

Wow - beautiful blocks ! Very interesting blog - will have to read back when I get the chance ! Can't wait to see the finished top with these
Those flowers are so cute! I like the idea with the alternate 9-patches. Inspiring!
Oh Judy---your idea of an applique border is the ticket! {{But I also understand the need to just "get it done!"}}
I'll stay posted to give you some incentive to finish it up! ;0) Nothing like a some positive pressure :0)
that looks great, and I thought I was the only one who was inspired while I was trying to sleep. An applique border will look great. Nice job. Yes, I have a quilt that has been in the box for a bit and it has cause me lots of rethinking and replanning but it will turn out nice in the end.
Well, technically the top would be done and just waiting for the border if you decide to do an applique border, which would be lovely. But you could also do a quick and easy scrappy 9 patch border.
Nice blocks and repeating is ok when you have had them put away for awhile. They are pretty on the wall and will be even prettier when they are a Flimsy with a border or no border. I'd vote for an Appliqued border if you want to do one. That would be another design wall post to do. Border- Design Wall.
I love your combo of 9-patch and applique - and yes, get them done and stop the 'haunting'... Some things just need time to brew over them and come up with THE solution!
lovely blocks - love the applique feature
That's a cute quilt, glad it will haunt you no longer...
Never let a/the book intimidate you. This is a cute, scrappy quilt and you or someone will love it however you decide to do it. As you know, I decided to eliminate the borders of the quilt I designed: I didn't let the designer intimidate me one bit!
