Ohhh Nooo

Yesterday, I discovered the floor to the back porch aka utility room aka laundry room was a soaking wet mess. I discovered our water heater has a leak! Yikes. What a wet, nasty, stinky nightmare.

I spent yesterday afternoon going through a bunch of crap that was stacked out there. Lots of stuff got tossed! If we haven't bothered with it in all this time, we aren't going to bother with it now. Out it went. It was very therapeutic.

Tonight, hubby and son in law headed into town to buy a new water heater! We wanted a fancy tankless one but they were special order and we need hot water today. So being installed now is a fancy schmancy 80 gallon, lifetime warranty, energy smart water heater. I do have fabulous men in my life!

You know what they say, things happen in 3s......one down! Pray what happens next isn't anything serious!

oh what a nightmere-- happened to us several years ago, on Christmas eve day....no hot water for Christmas, 3 little kids.... yeah, that was fun. :)

We had to replace ours recently, too! Thank goodness it wasn't leaking, it just stopped heating and when my husband tried to take out the heating elements, they broke off and wouldn't come out.

SHEESH! Not fun at all!! At least now you will have a cleaner, more organized porch/laundry area... Maybe something needs to leak on mine so we would HAVE to clean out some more stuff!!

With an 80 gallon tank, you should have enough hot water any time you want it.

We want to get a tankless water heater but they are very expensive. Plus natural gas isn't available here so we would need to plumb in propane. My BIL has one and they love it. He says they've seen a huge reduction in their electric bill since installing theirs. I'm all for saving money. LOL

I always worry about that happening when I'm traveling!
