Mystery Update

I'm very excited to say that I am ready for part 3 of the Orca Bay Mystery from Quiltville~link over to the right. I know the next part isn't due out until December 2nd but I'm ready!

Here are 238 quarter square triangles. Don't you love those cute little clothespins? I don't know where I got them but they sure are handy.

I loved doing the 3 1/2" string blocks! I lay out my center string then put a dot of washable Elmer's glue stick on 2 corners of the paper and stick it to the string. Then I cut them apart, stack them up and make a bunch of blocks! I use my small Brooklyn Revolver cutting mat and in to time they are all trimmed up and ready to de-paper (movie time work).

I was surprised how fast these went. Aren't they fun!

Go Judy Go! I haven't even started part one yet. Life has been in the way. I have a few things I need to get done today, then I am goign to start. As long as I can breathe and see, hopefully I will have them done before bedtime, all of step one and step two as well. Wish me luck, because I have laundry to do too. I don't get to go to my sewing room till around 2pm either.

Way to go on crossing the first two steps off your list! Great tip for the glue stick on string blocks. I'm off to start those now, so I'll be sure to give it a try.

Wow, you are done! Congrats - I agree the string units are fast ( and addictive...) to make.

Love all your blues! I'm done with step 2, too. Now, decision time .... should I do some housework, or work on a charity quilt? No contest - sewing always wins.

Great progress Judy. Glad you are keeping up. Those little string blocks are so cute. I need to get busy and get started before clue 3 comes out.

Lovely blues! I was surprised how fast step 2 went also. I "cheated" and cut my paper squares with the Accuquilt GO! Baby. That made things go quick!

You really are quick - thanks for the tip. I love looking at all of the string blocks and seeing bits and pieces of fabric that I have too.

Love your colors. I saw the hint about the glue on Soscrappy's blog and it made it so much easier. Great tip.
