Sunday Stitching

My cute little bird has been neglected and I feel bad.  When any evening hand work was done, knitting had taken over until a few nights ago when I picked up this sweet thing.

This is my embroidery thread box.  I really need to take it with me next time thread is on sale and do some thread enhancing.  I love all the colors but this box is looking quite sad right now. I don't like that they can't all stand up like the pinks and the blues.  My goal is to have this box full and another waiting to fill up.  How fun would it be to have every color available at my fingertips.  But then again, that might be too many choices for me.

My goal for the week is to take some time (23 minutes at least!) to do some slow hand stitching.  Check out what Kathy worked on this week and what others are doing by going to Kathy's Quilts: Slow Sunday Stitching.

Definitely, write down the numbers of the floss you have so when the skeins go on sale you'll be prepared.

Yikes, it's expensive anymore. I used to purchase 4 or 5 skeins for a dollar - certainly can't do that now. I have three boxes of floss - all different colors or shades of colors.

Such a cute little bird..just singing and waiting for you to come back to him! I think you definitely NEED to fill up the floss box! Thanks for linking up!

I have six of those boxes of floss - and yet sometimes I don't have a color I need. My mother's friend gave me several zipper bags of floss when she retired from teaching Home-Ec (Do they still teach that is school), and I've bought bags of floss at yard sales. One lady saw me with the two bags of floss and said - oh, do you knit? LOL And it was her yardsale. I got one of those little winders from Amazon - and bought the plastic thread holders by the case - I love the colors all organized in the boxes.

It is nice to have a variety of threads on hand, your little birdie could turn into a peacock with a rainbow of feathers.

That is so cute! Definitely watch for the thread sales -- that stuff adds up fast these days.
