Design Wall Monday
While sorting some stuff yesterday, I came across this UFO. This one doesn't belong to me but to now 16 year old Granddaughter Ashlee. She started playing with some strips one day a couple years ago and they turned into the center of this top. Then she picked out her border fabrics and we cut them to put on next time she sewed. These were all put into a large zip bag along with the flannel for the backing. I think this was a year and a half ago.
Anyhow, I asked her if she wanted me to finish this for her and she said yes. So I put it up on the wall and I'm going to look at it for a while. I have an idea to jazz it up a bit, we'll see how that works out. Until then, I have a birthday gift to finish, step 4 of RRCB and a few more blocks to catch up on this week. And Christmas is not going to wait for me.
I wonder why I can't sleep.....so many ideas running in my head.........they need to settle down!

That will be a cute little quilt!
I like the scrappy rail fence. It's something about the borders that's being added which gives the center another feel. I don't think I would have even played with those borders on the quilt but I do like what I see. Looking forward to seeing what's done with it.
doesn't it feel great to drag out an old project and work on it? And, to move it to the finished column, so to speak, will be gratifying. It has lots of potential. Maybe some giant machine appliqued flowers in bright colors across the top/borders. It's like a blank canvas...
How wonderful to finish up an old quilt you had forgotten about. It feels so good!
Fun! It is sweet to have the chance to work with your granddaughter on her quilt.
How nice to have someone to pass the quilting bug down to. I love the scrappy look of this quilt.
Ah...the curse of the creative quilter is upon you! LOL!
Too many exciting ideas...not enough time and energy!
Great joint project for the two of you. Can't wait to see how you jazz it up.
I like Bonnie's idea. I think I might add a bright pink inner border too. Sandi
I really like the look of the center of her quilt. This looks like the kind of quilt that would be great to cuddle up in in front of the fire. She'll wish she had finished it herself when she sees what you do with it.
