Design Wall Monday

Wednesday is our 38th wedding anniversary. I think maybe Ernie got tired of hearing me whine about not winning a GO! Cutter. I really wanted one but decided not to spend the money. But....when it's a special occasion, we shop together and buy what we really, really want. I found out one of our major fabric centers would allow me to use the 40% off coupon on the GO! so off we GO-ed before they changed their mind. We also went to the store that sold reloading supplies for his latest venture. We ended the afternoon with an early dinner at our favorite fish place. We have the best dates!

With dinner taken care of, I had time to learn how to use my new tool. I got out the bag of pink fabric scraps that I wanted to make a baby quilt from, added some super cute cat fabric and started to cut. Then I got the brilliant idea to play with EQ7 and come up with a plan. I really do have some awesome toys/tools!

This is where I left off yesterday. I need to cut a few more squares and triangles today and then start moving blocks around. I have yet to choose an inner border but no problem, I have a bin full of light fabrics to pick from. (I just realized the fabric for this quilt cost less than $5! I love the quilter's yard sales!!)

Head on over to Judy L's, check out her dimples and then see what others are working on. I love Design Wall Monday!

But first, there are peppers to slice and put on the dehydrator. Did you see the post this morning over at Chickens in the Road/Farm Bell Recipes.......dehydrator goodness. Great minds think alike on this one. LOL

Looks like I've planned myself out a pretty fun day.

Have fun with your Go! cutter. I'm using mine more and more every week. I too am working on baby and patriotic quilts. I used the cutter to cut as many shapes as possible. I've been having fun learning how to cut "different" shapes that the die originally was made for. Great investment.

Great idea for an anniversary gift. And where or where did you go that would allow you 40% off on your GO? Our 50th is in Jan: I want to go to Universal to visit the new Harry Potter rides.
