Design Wall Monday

Who would have thought I'd be writing a DWM post at 4 in the morning while drinking coffee. I'm trying to get myself back on Ernie's schedule. My best time of day is first thing in the morning and going back to bed messes with my best time of day. I'm hoping I make it but a nap later may be in order.

28 blocks complete for the BOM-Quilt Addicts sampler quilt. Only 2 more to do. I'm getting pretty excited about sashing. I think after this is finished, I am going to gently place my Carol Doak 50 Fabulous Paper Pieced Stars book up on the shelf and leave it there for a while. That is right after I go through and make a note of which blocks I have made for this quilt.

Today's big plans include working on at least 1 of the blocks, baking zucchini bread and processing green beans. Sounds like a pretty full day to me.

Grab yourself a cup of something and go to Judy L's to see her fabulous project and then visit others.

It's beautiful Judy! I love quilts with black in them!

My day is going to be the opposite of yours. I plan to be lazy... of course since I'm planning on it, it probably won't happen. LOL

Great progress on the paper pieced blocks. I too am waiting to see this one with sashing, nearing a quilt top.

Gorgeous! Love the colors, the geometry, everything about this quilt you are making!

I've never done paper piecing, but this may just be the inspiration to try it.

I love getting up before everyone else. It's the only way I stay sane, lol.

I am usually on the computer at 4 am too. It is such a quiet time to enjoy the sounds of morning outside.

I'm also currently working on a star block from Carol Doak's book (Maryland) and have just finished a few other quilts using blocks from this same book. Like you, after I finish this current piece I'm going to put it to rest for a while and move on to another technique. I have two log cabin block quilts screaming to be brought to life ...

I love your blocks. I am just beginning a CD star block, from her yahoo group. I am making it on my new Featherweight. It has been a while since I did paper piecing and right now my brain is not wrapping itself around it right now. That is my task for today. ;-)

4am? No way on earth am I up at that time, unless I'm having one of those can't get to sleep nights. I am not a morning person. But, your stars look gorgeous. That's another book I might have to add to my wish list.

4am is always a quiet and peaceful time at least until my 'alarm' birds go off. I love the black with the brights. Black always sets things off well.

Ugh! I don't think I've ever voluntarily been up and alert at 4:00 AM--don't know how you're doing it! Love your blocks, that's one jazzy colorway.

Those blocks look great Judy! I am doing a similar quilt. The black really makes it pop, as they say! Good job!

Your stars are beautiful Judy! I'm learning to love zucchini bread (with a few chocolate chips thrown in!).

You sure got an early start! The stars are beautiful and with just 2 to go you are almost there! Happy sewing!

The blocks look great. It is going to be fun to see them all put together. Isn't it funny how paper piecing gives such stunning results, and still leaves us never wanting to do it again. Until next time of course....

Oh how lovely...........

You certainly do have a full day planned..............

You are so right about going back to bed. I used to get up at 5:00 when Lem went out to walk the dog but lately I have been sleeping in. It does have an impact on what I can get stitched in a day.
