Design Wall Monday
There is nothing on my big design wall. After catching up with the Pat Sloan BOM, I took out the final paper pieced block for the BOM-Quilt Addicts yahoo group. I last showed you my progress on this DWM post. I have the other 6 blocks (I want to make my quilt with 30 blocks instead of 24) cut and ready to sew.
My focus this week is standing at the long arm. But when I need sit down time, I plan to work on these blocks until I have them all finished. Am I being realistic when I say I can do one a day??? Maybe half a block a day will be more like it.
Visit Judy L's blog and see what other quilters have on their design walls.

It is looking very good! I alwasy say that if a quilt pattern says to make 240 of something I put it back! LOL.
And you are making more?
It will be way beautiful though!

Realistically I think it will depend on how long the longarm claims your attention as to how much you do on the block. I think you will make 3 blocks in the next week if not more.
You always have great projects to post about. Love the block in progress and looking forward to seeing the completed top.
It seems if I set a goal of 1/2 block per day, I end up at the sewing machine and do a block or two in one sitting then have the next few days to procrastinate! :)
You paper pieced block looks great. It reminded me that I have been planning to start on a paperpieced BOM that Carol Doak is doing. It started in June and I haven't started at all. Thanks for the reminder.
Paper Piecing isn't my favorite as I have said before. Are all of the Blocks you have cut out PP? This one is different than any I've seen.
Here's how I attack these... have all your pieces pre-cut. I work on ALL the blocks at once, assembly line fashion. Stitch all the 1 & 2 pieces on (chain-piecing). That goes quickly. Need more of a break? Go ahead and stitch #3 on all of them, too. Quilt a while, then stitch on #4. Keep working this way and you will have those blocks finished in no time at all! It may take 3 days to do them, but when you stitch the last # piece you are DONE! I like that approach... finishing them all at the same time. I guess that is why I knit 2 socks at one time... I like to be done when I am done with one of them.
These are really pretty blocks... can't wait to see what the whole quilt looks like.

Standing at the longarm is part of my goal for this week, as well. I love your stars quilt. Has your group decided on this years theme yet? I am very tempted to join.
Looks interesting. I never do a quit completely as the instructions either.
Love and hugs Gina xxx
you will get it done I think when you have a plan and focus you get much more done--just like when we did the quiltathon last week.
